Central Heating / Wet Systems / Hydronic
The conventional approach of plumbing a radiator directly into the Central heating system. When the Central Heating system is on (i.e. in the Winter Months) hot water is pumped through the radiator and it dissipates heat.
Radiator valves are used to connect the pipe (which could be 15mm or 10mm) from the boiler to the radiator. They are connected with:
When the pipe-work comes out of the floor and the water- inflow / threads are located underneath the towel warmer. (These are also called ‘parallel’ valves or ‘in-line’ valves.)
When the pipe work comes from the wall or the water-in flow / threads are located on the SIDE of the radiator.
Dual Fuel Systems
This is a system that allows the use of the radiator during colder, winter months when the central heating system is functioning and in the warmer, summer months, when it may be shut off.
The radiator is plumbed directly into the central heating system and has a valve (T-piece) that allows the insertion and use of an electric element. The element is wired with a white lead, into the electrical circuitry of the bathroom.
Dual Fuel Systems allow the ability to control the internal temperature of the radiator between 30 and 60 degrees.

Electric Only Systems
A specially modified, factory filled radiator that is wired (via a fused spur) directly into the electrical circuitry of the bathroom. NOT able to be plumbed directly into hot water / hydraulic central heating systems as it is sealed unit.
